In November-December 2015 the awarding ceremony for the winners of the transboundary basin-wide art-contest “Colours of the Dniester” for youth and children took place in Moldova (Chisinau and Tiraspol) as well as in Odessa, Lviv and other Ukrainian cities. During last three years the contest pays special attention to the issue of climate change. In particular, its slogan is “Restore biodiversity of the Dniester basin ecosystems and make your contribution to saving the climate!”. This year the contest was organised for the 7th time; 400 works were submitted from Moldova (incl. Transdnistria) and Ukraine and 80 winners were selected out of them. The works of the winners are presented in the brochure “Colours of the Dniester” and a few of them could be found at the end of this news. The contest was organised within the project component “Climate Change and Security in the Dniester River Basin”, implemented by the UNECE and OSCE in the framework of the Environment and Security Initiative (ENVSEC) and funded by the European Union’s Instrument for Stability and the Austrian Development Cooperation. The project team would like to thank usual organizers of the contest incl. Lviv Oblast Department of Water Resources, International Environmental Association of River Keepers “Eco-TIRAS” and Black Sea Women’s Club/MAMA-86-Odessa for their enthusiasm and great job.
