On 26 February 2016 the round-table “Wetland restoration is one of the main conditions for conservation of the Dniester delta ecosystem” was held in Odessa within the ENVSEC/OSCE/UNEP project “Restoring Ecosystems to Mitigate Floods and Improve Cooperation between Countries in Transboundary River Basins in Eastern Europe” funded by the Government of Switzerland. The event was organized with support of Nizhnednestrovskiy National Nature Park and with participation of Odessa Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The round-table discussed the outcomes of the feasibility study on restoring water exchange between the Dniester and its wetlands covering required measures and recourses to restore and reconstruct water culverts as well as clean current and previous channels and other wetland water courses. The event received a lot of interest from relevant authorities, scientific and conservation organizations as well as business. Materials of the round-table could be found in Russian.
